It is common when the summer heat hits, to see in the streets of Cabanyal how the neighbors take their chairs out to the street at dusk and go out to the fresh one. Thus, in these groups, anecdotes, letters and even sandwiches are shared. This is a deep-rooted Mediterranean tradition, which makes the high temperatures of summer nights more bearable thanks to the night breeze and good company.
For the illustration, Abraham Mondría has chosen one of his favorite facades in the neighborhood, that of 279 Calle del Progreso, a single-story house with a typically cottage-like ceramic veneer, in green and white colors.
